During the procedure, your provider examines the colon and rectum for signs of disease. Polyps can often be removed at the same time, and tissue samples may be taken if needed. This allows for early detection, prevention, and diagnosis of gastrointestinal conditions.
Colonoscopy procedures typically take less than one hour. Patients are under sedation and return home the same day with minimal downtime.
